The squid and the cold
Good morning from a sweaty boy.
Being British is probably good to mention the weather so i will it's hot and sunny.
A bit close.
A bit "Make sure you put sun cream on your moles Adam, you'll very fair skinned" etc etc.
Things we've done in the last week...well i had five days off from the world and apart from getting drunk on Sunday did nothing but sleep and eat good food. I feel refreshed and full of energy again. The rest was needed. It was excellent to do nothing.
Things I’ve learned this week is you shouldn't be allowed near the internet when you're alone and drunk as I spent Monday morning deleting various internet posts I’d posted the night before. Well nothing bad really just a bit soppy or naughty "Mina olen tuhma pieni Mayra!"
I have also accidentally become addicted to the 90's/early 00's series "Cold feet" I literally cannot stop watching it and have been watching it from season 1 all the way through. I'm currently on Season 4 and i don't even bloody like it just can't stop watching it. It's basically heroin.
All that ever happens in cold feet is someone cheats on their GF/BF gets caught and is then forgiven, someone has a baby, the person who recently forgave their cheating partner then cheats themselves, they get drunk and a secret gets out, someone has a baby, someone cheats, someone else cheats, some else cheats, someone has a baby, you see the Irish mans skinny arse and then someone cheats. Bunch of slags. Especially that Rachel she's the worst of the lot and she looks like Jill Dando pre bullet. I just have to watch them until the end and then i'm free. I feel like a lost fan but without the social credibility and also a bit like a rag and bone man without any rag or bone because I’ve sold it all for Cold feet DVDs or Heroin.
We've been recording a completely new song this week and last week for the forthcoming "I'm not from London" compilation. "I'm not from London" are the best D.I.Y promoters, events organisers, producers, artists in town and they have very kindly asked us to contribute to their new compilation. We've offered up a completely new song which is so new it doesn't have a name and been busy in the studio. It's sounding grand so far and we've got as far as guitars, bass, drums and a lead vocal which means the fun bits start soon! Well next week.
Arranging the extra bits is pretty much the only part of recording i enjoy apart from doing vocals and things have gone great so far and it's been a pleasure working with Phil, Danny and Matt on the recordings. "I'm not from London" also officially has a record label now which is a great thing and hopefully we can work with them some more in the future.
In the meantime we're still re releasing "Everything beautiful..." at the end of August. I think that might be it with Danqua and us and we'll most likely be releasing stuff through someone else following that.
We've got a few options anyway.
More stuff - Y not festival we'll be playing on the Sunday if anyone's going.
Razorlight shit - Tickets are available for a tenner so please follow the link on our facebook page.
I've had to buy 20 tickets myself in advance so please get them from me.
Miles has set up a ticket buying link in the Captain Dangerous shop, i then get an email confirmation of payment and then i post you a tickets. Easy :) Cuts out the middle man and you get the tickets sharpish! It's JULY 10TH!!!!
We'll be playing our street busking musicaaaaaacaaa in stratford upon avon tomorrow so if you're in the area please pop down and say hello.
That's basically it...tonight we rehearse, tomorrow we dance.
R.I.P Frank Sidebottom.
